Rare circa 1930 wooden mechanical wind-up toy speed boat, measuring approximately 17 inches (43 cm) long.

This impressive early toy/model boat features a painted wooden hull with red and cream sides, detailed brown plank-style deck, open cockpit and mechanical propeller drive.

The wind-up mechanism has been tested and is working. When wound, the mechanism operates and turns the metal propeller. The winding key pictured is included.

Condition

The boat shows substantial wear and patina consistent with approximately nine decades of age.

There are scratches, scuffs, paint loss, discoloration, marks, worn edges and general surface wear throughout. The underside shows particularly noticeable wear. Metal hardware and mechanical components show oxidation and aged patina.

No restoration history is known.
